วิธีลบ Windows Vista ออกจากเครื่อง กรณีที่มี Windows เวอชันอื่นเช่น Windows XP อยู่ด้วย

วิธีแรก ต้องใช้แผ่น Windows Vista installation DVD

1. เลือก boot เข้า Windows XP
2. ใส่แผ่น Windows Vista installation DVD และปิดเมนูที่ autorun ขึ้นมา
3. ไปที่ START > RUN > แล้วพิมพ์: "e:\boot\bootsect.exe /nt52 ALL /force" (และแทนที่ e: ด้วยไดรว์ Vista DVD).
4. Restart คอมและ  boot เข้า Windows XP
5. Format drive หรือเลือกลบข้อมูล Windows Vista ทั้งหมดได้เลย
6. ลบอีก 2 ไฟล์ใน drive c: คือ Boot.BAK และ Bootsect.BAK ซึ่งอยู่ใน XP root folder

วิธีที่สอง ต้องใช้แผ่น Windows XP installation

1. boot เข้าแผ่นติดตั้ง Windows XP
2. เมื่อถึงหน้าติดตั้งให้กด "R" เข้าสู่ recovery console
3. พิมพ์คำสั่ง "FIXBOOT C:"
4. หลังจากนั้นพิมพ์ "FIXMBR" แล้วกด "Y" เพื่อยืนยัน
5. reboot
6. Format drive หรือเลือกลบข้อมูล Windows Vista ทั้งหมดได้เลย
7. ลบอีก 2 ไฟล์ใน drive c: คือ Boot.BAK และ Bootsect.BAK ซึ่งอยู่ใน XP root folder
